St. Anne’s Children and Family Center, designed and
built by Catholic Charities Spokane, delights in engaging its young
occupants at every turn. With a child’s curiosity in mind, visitors are
ushered into the building by footprints to follow that are sand-blasted
in the concrete, beneath a broad protective canopy. The facility
interior is filled with exciting ‘events’, whimsical art and design
elements. At every turn, these elements create an undeniable sense that
this is a place for children to be safe and have fun. The facility
serves a wide variety of economic strata, from state-assisted children
to upper-economic strata kids. The kids don’t know who’s wealthy and
who isn’t. They just know getting to walk up the “train tracks” to the
upper-level classrooms is one cool, edgy trip.
